Public blamed for snatch thefts
THE public is partly to be blamed for snatch thefts, said Deputy Internal Security Minister Datuk Mohd Johari Baharum. Earlier, while replying to a question from Senator Datuk Rizuan Abd Hamid on snatch thefts, Mohamad Johari also placed the blame on women. “Sometimes, women like to carry expensive handbags and wear clothes that invite trouble,” he said.
佐哈里∶名贵服饰引人犯罪 “女人须为攫案负责”I really doubt when they will stop to put something on blame. Why so many snatch thieves on the road? My colleague here told me a saying “when a country is doing well, the church will empty”. Think about what that saying means here.
This statement in house really showed Malaysia’s Minister has strong bias on female. Gender equality? He said women should be blamed; then kindly please make sure his wife does NOT buy any expensive handbags and wears expensive clothes. At the same time, according to his theory, all the shops in town should stop to sell those expensive handbags and expensive clothes because these are the reasons causing the snatch thefts.
Friend of mine was a snatch theft victim in Seri Kembangan, Selangor. She does not wear expensive clothes and carried expensive handbag. She became victim. Should he blame that she was careless? She walked together with her hubby on the street in day time about 11am for lunch. Why walk on the street? You know well, in Malaysia you hard to find a proper pedestrian precinct which separate the vehicles and the pedestrian well on the road. (Look at the photos to understand what does proper pedestrian precinct means.)

Should he suggests to the Minister of Works to build more proper pedestrian precincts in whole Malaysia instead of blaming the public, the women? Sounds like he is trying to say it is not his duties to make sure the country is safe although he is Deputy Internal Security Minister. Should we give our vote to (??????) again during next general election?
Do they think about the current situation in Malaysia? Prices of everything go up however not the SALARY, well, can they tell how to survive under this kind of condition? Change the life styles? How?
